Dr. Bill Goold is the Dwight M. and Lucille S. Beeson Professor of Church Music and the William Earle Edwards Professor of Church Music.
Dr. Goold received a B.A. in Bible and Theology from Vennard College; a B.M.E. and M.M. in Vocal Performance from Drake University; and a D.M.A. in Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Kentucky.
For 16 years, Dr. Goold served as professor of music and vocal instruction at Asbury College. This time also included a brief time as vice-president for Institutional Advancement. In 1987, President David McKenna invited him to join the faculty at Asbury Theological Seminary. He now teaches in four areas, including private voice, directing the Singing Seminarians, Music in Worship for Pastors and the basic WO510 worship class.
For many years, Dr. Goold has served as minister of music in local churches, including nearly 20 years at Wilmore United Methodist Church.
Dr. Goold is married to Thelma Eldred Goold and they have two grown sons.
