Dr. Stamps has served in the pastorate of the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church for more than 39 years.  He is a gifted lecturer and presenter as well as hymn writer and is author of The Sacrament of the Word Made Flesh: The Eucharistic Theology of Thomas F. Torrance  (Rutherford House, Edinburgh, Scotland, 2007). He and his wife, Ellen, have two grown children.
