Mission, Vision & Purpose

Because we believe we were created to worship and glorify our Lord, Asbury has designed its structure and around the conviction that we are to foster a diverse community which nurtures wholeness in Christ for service in the Church and around the world. We believe that, in order to become this kind of worshipping community, we have at our heart, prayer and worship, reconciliation and servant leadership, a multicultural environment, and a renewed perception of the Church as the whole people of God.

Asbury advocates that a vibrant community is essential to a transformational learning experience. We see a fusion of learning, worship, study and prayer. Learning shapes worship. Study forms prayer. At the end of the day it is all about responding to the Word of God.

Explicit vision and direction are given to a vision for wholeness and spiritual formation among students. The Community Life Office houses both the Student Services and Spiritual Life departments that work together to enrich the experience of the student from an educational, emotional and spiritual position that encourages wholeness and serves as a vital aspect of ministerial preparation.
