Reserve/Copyright Request Form
Copyright Notice
The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproductions is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copy law.
All requests are subject to review from the Copyright Management Center (CMC). After review, the Faculty Info Commons will update you regarding the status of your request. If there are copyright concerns, we will contact you with alternative solutions.
If the material is not requested 3 months prior to the beginning of the semester for which it is needed, we can not guarantee the reserve material will be available to your students in a timely manner. All requests received by this date and approved by the CMC will made available at the beginning of the semester.
At the end of each semester, all material in the reserve system will be removed. If you have personal material on reserve, it will be SPOed to you within 2 weeks after the end of the semester.
