Task Force on Board and Faculty Communications

Present: Joe Dongell, Christine Pohl, Jerry Walls, Peggy Kirkpatrick, Wade Paschal, Dan Johnson
The conversation on June 11 extended our previous conversation on the presidential search process. The Task Force is working together in order to communicate constructively the suggestions put forth from the faculty.
There have been and continue to be differences in stress and opinion among the Task Force members, but there is a deep and real appreciation of the commitment of each member to the seminary and to understanding each other. The Task Force agreed it would be healthy to expand the conversation between Board and Faculty members. The Task Force asked the Chair (Wade Paschal) to talk to Dr. Bechler about how this might be accomplished and come back to the Task Force with a suggestion. The intention is not to expand the Task Force itself with new members, but to use the Task Force members as a means of expanding conversation between Board and faculty members.
The Task Force scheduled the next meeting for Friday, June 22nd, and intends to return to the question of faculty representation on the board and look at some proposals for expanding and improving our communication through that means.
