SYLLABI UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE ASBURY INFORMATION SYSTEM (AIS)

Since we have migrated from Firstclass to Zimbra there is now a new way of posting syllabi.  Syllabi are actually posted in two locations.  First, they can be posted to our Asbury Information System (AIS) and second, they can be uploaded to the actual Virtual Campus Course.  The first option allows all students to see the syllabi without being registered for the course since the syllabi appear in the course schedule.  You may want to print out these instructions to keep them handy.  To load the syllabi to the AIS system, please follow these steps...

1) Once your syllabus is ready, please double check it to make sure it contains the appropriate support text.  This text can be found at http://www.asburyseminary.edu/faculty/fic/required-syllabus-info .  Please copy and paste the text that is found on this link into the syllabus if it is missing then resave the syllabus.

2) Save the syllabus as an HTML document from Microsoft Word.  Go to File>Save As and change the file type to "Web Page".  You can save the HTML document to anywhere you wish, most likely to the same location as the original syllabus.

3) Next, within OneATS click on the AIS tab at the top, and click on the STAFF tab.

4) Set options for the semester of interest by clicking the "set options" button, change the parameters and then click on "submit options"

5) Then click on the Course Syllabi tab and click on "Find Course" or choose it from the list above.

6) Select the course of interest

7) Scroll down and click on the "Browse" button and choose the HTML syllabus you saved earlier

8) Next, click on the "Upload HTML" file
