Dr. Art McPhee is E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism.
He received a B.A. (1970) and M.Div. (1976) from Eastern Mennonite Seminary and a Ph.D. from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2001.
Ordained in 1971, Art McPhee was a pastor for 23 years, more than half of them in churches he also planted. For several years, he gave one-fourth time to the church planting and development department of Mennonite Board of Missions and served, as well, as a district overseer in South Florida. For several years, he was the voice of the "Mennonite Hour" and "Art McPhee in Touch" radio programs. His wrote his first book Friendship Evangelism in 1978. His latest, The Road to Delhi (2005), traces the life of Methodist missionary to India, J. Waskom Pickett. Dr. McPhee has been a professor of evangelism and church planting since the mid-1990s. In addition, he has been editor of the Journal of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education, an officer and board member in two professional organizations, and a researcher and regular guest lecturer in South Asia. He is a contributor of several articles to The Oxford Encyclopaedia of South Asian Christianity (2011).
Dr. McPhee and his wife, Evie were married in 1970 and have a son, John.
