The day was like many others but the air was filled with anticipation.  After praying, planning and producing, The HUB: Asbury Theological Seminary Alumni Network officially launched.  This launch created anticipation of the best kind and great joy in our team as we gratefully released our project to the alumni community.  The responses came flooding into the ATS Alumni Facebook page and thehub@asburyseminary.edu inbox.

The HUB is a place for connecting with fellow Asburians.  Tom Harrison (’79) describes The HUB in this manner, “Not only will it help us re-connect with one another, but it can also help create new bonds in the future as we can communicate about ministry opportunities (including staffing).”  He is not the only alumnus to see the possibilities.  David Hoppenjan (’06) wrote “love the HUB for connecting with friends from ATS and as a great way to post job opportunities and learn about upcoming events! Been missing this connection…”  Robbie Cape (’02) was not only able to update his profile, but also “was able to find some old friends!”

In addition to connecting, The HUB is the place to share experience, advice and professional expertise.  “It looks like a great way to share in ministry with classmates and even alumni from other years. I especially thought the Ministry Network possibilities looked great!” remarked Ashlee Alley (’03).  The Ministry Network allows alumni to support the career development of fellow alumni by pouring into one another through mentoring relationships.

“The most impressive page is the list of career opportunities,” penned Carolyn Moore (’98). “I’m impressed by how many jobs have already been posted and by how easy it is to post a job, knowing my post will be viewed by people with an Asbury heart. If you’re looking for a job or a qualified candidate to fill a position, use The HUB.”  A recent 2012 graduate was able to find a job on The HUB near his desired location and apply for it.  As positions become available across the globe, alumni can post them, helping others to find employment.  Alumni have the ability to register for events on The HUB and invite others as well.  Michael Eurit (’87) wrote “It made registering for ATS Minister’s Conference, very convenient.”

After the excitement of launch day, The HUB is on the trajectory to be an online community for the meaningful relationships which were created and nurtured during your time at Asbury Theological Seminary.
