I came to Asbury for the D.Min. program having been in pastoral ministry for nearly 20 years. It was a refreshing experience for me as I was challenged academically again. I was renewed by the interaction of ideas and the discovery of new ideas. Equally valuable to me was the fellowship of classmates from many different traditions all united around the Lordship of Christ. I continue some friendships that I made in my time there.

The dissertation phase was very difficult but as I look at the bound copy of the dissertation on the bookshelf in my office I would not trade it for anything. It was worth it all. God bless you as you try to find the right program and school for you. For me it was Asbury.
Going through [the program] will make your life, your ministry, your marriage, and your future better. Take the time to enjoy it and do it right. Don't think you can rush through it.
