MA in Christian Leadership

The Master of Arts in Christian Leadership program equips persons to function effectively in a variety of leadership positions. The program serves future leaders who are called to local church settings, parachurch organizations, college student development or in the marketplace.

Admission Requirements

  • Application
  • Official transcripts from all postsecondary degree conferring schools sent to Admissions directly from the institution
  • $50 non-refundable application fee
  • Personal history
  • Four References

    • Pastor (required)
  • 2.75/4.00 grade point average*
    Applicants whose grade point average falls between 2.50 and 2.75 may be admitted on a  reduced load basis. For applicants whose cumulative grade point average is below 2.50, a score of 50 on the Miller Analogies Test or a 500 on the verbal section of the Graduate Record Examination is required.

  • For applicants whose native language is other than English, 79 internet (550 paper) TOEFL score or 7.0 IELTS

Leadership Core (17 hours)

  • Christian Leadership Development
  • Equipping the Laity
  • Leading Groups and Organizations
  • Mentored Ministry (Entry)
  • Mentored Ministry (Intermed.)

Leadership Core Electives (choose 7 hours)

  • Cross-Cultural Leadership
  • Leading Change
  • Urban Leadership
  • Developing Emerging Leaders
  • Change Agent in Mission or Leadership of the Church for the Unchurched
  • Advanced Seminary/Wesleyan Leadership

General Electives (18 hours)

*If your GPA [or GRE scores] do not meet the minimum requirement or does not accurately reflect your ability to succeed at Asbury, you will have an opportunity to explain in your personal history essay.
