Essential Job Responsibilities:

DUTIES

Facilitates Sunday School, Sunday evening, Chi Rho, CYF, and Worship and Wonder functions
Plans and directs Vacation Bible School
Communicates with youth, parents, and the congregation about Youth ministries
Focuses on developing relationships with youth and their families
Recruits and facilitates volunteer leadership in the areas of Youth ministries and activities
Plans, coordinates, and attends activities for Youth including but not limited to church camps, trips, conferences, and other outside church events
Works to integrate Youth activities into the overall church programs
Engages and addresses Youth regarding contemporary issues
Builds community among the Youth
Proposes a budget for Youth programs in concert with the Christian Education Committee
Attends staff, committee and Board meetings
Attends and represents the Church at various denominational and community meetings/events as directed
Represents First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ, Winchester, KY in the community
Other tasks as assigned

+Provide Christian fellowship and support opportunities for youth
+Involve youth in service ministry within the church and community
+Be a visible presence in the community and in the lives of the youth served; be active with schools and activities of youth
+With support from the Youth Advisory Team, encourage youth to participate in planning and implementing activities to develop leadership qualities
+Develop and implement specific Jr. and Sr. High exclusive events, studies and activities
+Lead Sr. High Sunday School class, weekly youth group and Wednesday night youth class
+Attend periodic church staff meetings

SALARY

Olivet Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Evansville, Indiana is looking for a part-time Student Ministries Coordinator to lead its dynamic middle school and high school student ministries programs.
Olivet is a vibrant Presbyterian community of 195 members with a weekly worship attendance of 180 who recently transitioned from the PCUSA to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. DUTIES

- Development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the ministry plan for the Youth Ministry of Olivet Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
- Recruit, train, encourage and supervise adult volunteers who work with youth, and provide pastoral support to these volunteers.
- Provide vision, leadership, organization and visibility for the Youth Ministry of Olivet Presbyterian.
- Share pastoral responsibilities as related to youth and their families, including, but not limited to calling and hospital visits, making appropriate referrals to the Senior Pastor as necessary.
- Provides for the physical, emotional and spiritual growth of the youth ministries through a balance of one-on-one, small group and large group discipleship and outreach.
The Youth Director is directly responsible to the Senior Pastor and the Session of Olivet Evangelical Presbyterian Church, in conjunction with the Youth Ministry Team.

SALARY

25 hours/week, $20,000-$25,000/year, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

To coordinate and develop ministries with youth and young adults, in order to provide opportunities for fellowship, learning, service and spiritual growth. DUTIES

1. Organize, oversee and participate in youth and young adult ministries (Jr. High and High School, young adults and families).
2. Assess needs, develop programs, social events, mission trips and other service projects, opportunities for study and growth.
3. Be aware of and publicize retreats and conferences.
4. Worship with us on Sunday mornings; coordinate any special youth services and/or youth involvement for various occasions and holiday celebrations.
5. Teach a Sunday School class as needed.
6. Share in worship leadership.
7. Preach occasionally.
8. Lead weekend evening group activities, such as youth, young couples, or Bible studies.
9. Lead, coordinate develop and work alongside the youth ministry volunteers and Spiritual Development Committee.
10. Develop, organize and help carry out fundraising with youth and adult volunteers.
11. This is a new position. The person who fills it will help to develop it as the work grows and changes according to the gifts one brings to the position.
12. Attend Sexual Misconduct Prevention training.
13. Attend a Youth Leadership workshop provided by the church annually.

SALARY

$10.00 per hour up to 20 hours per week + travel expenses+ church's portion of FICA
