Enterprise First United Methodist Church will have an opening for a full time Director of Children's Ministries as of July 1, 2008. Successful candidate will be required to oversee Children's Sunday School, Nursery, Mom's Day Out and Preschool and Wonderful Wednesday programs, as well as associated Children's activities and educational programming
We are looking for someone with a heart to reach Children for Christ. Ability to recruit volunteers and exceptional people skills are a must. This person will need to be able to manage a large group of children, volunteers, resources, time, staff, and budget. Children's ministry experience at a paid staff level is a plus. Enterprise First United Methodist Church averages around 500 in worship attendance each week.

QUALIFICATIONS

DUTIES

Co-Director of Youth and Education with primary responsibility for Sr. High Program and Adult Education

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

-High School graduate with post high school training, education and/or experience in youth ministry.
-Confirmed member of a Christian church with familiarity of the United Methodist Church and willingness to adhere to its doctrines and policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Degree in Youth Ministry or similar area preferred. An official transcript must be provided within twenty (20) days of employment.
-Certification for Youth Ministry work with the Methodist Church preferred, or willingness to become certified after employment.
-Evidence of experience working with youth of all ages in Christian Education.
-A musically experienced person to encourage and help teach youth in praise bands.
-Evidence of successful ability to carry out prescribed instructional program.
-Evidence of ability to model appropriate behaviors and to provide consistent behavior intervention procedures with youth.

DUTIES

This position will involve coordination, administration and teaching in:

Education Program for young adults and adults: Work with co director in teaching Sunday school program for Jr. and Sr. High with primary responsibility for Sr. High. Coordinate, recruit and train volunteer leaders and teachers. Organize and/or teach evening classes, Confirmation programs and other educational opportunities such as, True Love Waits class, financial management, college and career preparation, and parenting classes. Support summer Vacation Bible School. Provide an atmosphere where friendships and faith can develop.

United Methodist Youth Program for Jr. and Sr. High youth with primary responsibility to Sr. High youth: work personally with youth and their leaders to develop and maintain quality Sunday evening program. Organize fund raisers. Oversee all aspects of selected youth outings, mission trips, church camps and some middler trips. Provide spiritual and personal support and guidance for youth through your time and presence. Utilize youth leadership in planning and implementing weekly activities. Assist in promoting church camp, Chrysalis, Convo, regional rallies and other conference and denominational activities. Work in conjunction with other churches and conference/district activities to provide opportunities for youth beyond the local church. This is a ministry lifestyle job including many weekends, evenings and week long events.

Family and Adult ministries: be a resource and active participant in organizing large-group events for families of our youth such as baseball games, hockey games, church family campouts, potlucks, summer and winter ski events.

Overall Program Coordination:
-Contribute to weekly bulletin/Clarion/newsletter articles and other announcements to the church membership, regular staff meetings with pastors and contact with youth leaders and volunteers. Participate in Administrative Council and Education Commission meetings each month, coordination of education youth and family ministries with other church programs and ministries.

SALARY

$26,500 - 33,000 total compensation depending on qualifications and experience

We, the DuRaleigh Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, North Carolina have a position open for a full-time Christian Education Director with a strong vision for 2nd generation Korean-American ministry.

Education Director is responsible for planning and implementing key programs for K-12 at DuRaleigh Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) with the love of Christ. This is a full-time position which includes overseeing K-12 educational programs, developing and implementing K-12 educational curriculum, and direct involvement with youth (6-12) programs. There will be another part time education director for Elementary students (K-5), who will work with the Education Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

The applicant is required to have a Bachelors degree in Christian Education or related fields with the minimum of two years of experiences in education ministry. Master of Divinity is desirable but not required. The applicant's primary language must be English. Being able to speak in Korean is a plus.
