How do I become a part of this community?

Fill out a contact card and e-mail it, SPO it, or turn it in at the Beeson International Center office.

How do I know what level of participation I want to be involved with?

General participation is for those who may want to participate in the community garden, learn and attend as many lunch forums and other activities sponsored by the CCC as possible. You would simply check the box that indicates you would like to become a part of the Creation Care Community. Covenant participation is for those who want to be involved in a deeper formational experience through covenant groups. Those involved in covenant groups will have the same opportunities to be involved in the garden, monthly lunch forums, etc.  You would check the box that says you need help finding a covenant group, or you are already in a covenant group.

What are covenant groups?

The purpose of Covenant Groups is to join together for learning, modeling, formation and teaching.  Using the Blessed Earth film series and supporting workbooks “Hope for Creation” and “Hope for Humanity,” Covenant Groups study biblical sustainability principles at monthly fellowship times. Conversations arising from the group experience influence how members will want to model what they are learning. This may be as simple as using a clothesline rather than a dryer for laundry. A natural outcome of the monthly sessions is a formational interaction that shapes each participant. This learning, formational dynamic will serve as teacher to the Seminary and beyond.

E-mail creationcare@asburyseminary.edu and ask for a covenant group application.

Do I have to be a part of a covenant group to be a part of the Creation Care Community?

No.  Covenant groups are for those who are interested in a deeper formational experience of learning about and living out biblical understandings of care for God’s creation.  You may be involved in CCC as a general participant.

How can I participate with the CCC garden?

If you are not already a part of the CCC, e-mail creationcare@asburyseminary.eduand ask for a garden application.

Do I have to be a part of the CCC to participate with the garden?
