Can I complete my degree through the ACE program?

No. Asbury Cluster Education (ACE) is a starting point towards your degree or certificate. Students can complete 10 three (3) credit courses in two years attending Friday evening throughout Saturday afternoon classes at an extension site through the ACE program. Students, by following a prescribed ACE plan, will be able to earn 30 hours toward a Master of Divinity or selected Master of Arts degrees. Courses may also be applied toward the 12 certificates. This program is especially suited towards those pursuing their Certificate in Christian Studies, Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree or their Master of Arts in Christian Ministries (MAXM) (Servant Leadership Track). All of the other Master of Arts degrees would require relocation to one of our geo-physical campuses in order to complete the degree whereas the Certificate in Christian Studies, MDiv or MAXM (Servant Leadership Track) can be completed via additional online course work and on-campus intensives. Our Professional Master of Arts degrees do have an 18 credit hour M.A. Core which many of the classes offered during the ACE classroom extension coursework would assist students in completing that core at a distance.

Intensives classes are offered throughout the year on both our Kentucky and Florida Dunnam campuses to fulfill the residential requirements. Intensives vary in format – some are offered in multiple weekends over the course of a semester, in a week long format and others do require a month-long stay on one of our campuses to complete the coursework.

What is the cost?

Tuition rates for the 2011-2012 Academic Year are as follows:

Full time: 9+ hours in Fall/Spring/Summer
$520 per credit hour 3+ hours in January

Half time: 5-8 hours in Fall/Spring/Summer
$530 per credit hour 2 hours in January

Institutional fees: $100 per semester

Books (estimated): $39 per credit hour

Can the courses I take apply towards any degree program?

While ACE courses can be applied to the majority of Asbury Seminary master degrees, the schedule best serves the following degrees:

  • Master of Divinity (up to 30 hours)
  • Master of Arts in Christian Ministries (Servant Leadership Track) **
  • Certificate in Christian Studies

Other Master of Arts programs that might interest you but would require relocation to one of our campuses in order to complete the degree are:

  • Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling
  • Master of Arts in Youth Ministry
  • Master of Arts in Christian Leadership

In addition, our certificates can be completed using both the ACE classroom extension and our online learning environment ExL. For information on certificates, click here.

** Completion of this degree would require relocation to the Kentucky campus for the Worship Ministries Track and to the Florida campus for the Ministries in Hispanic Congregations or Mission/Evangelism Ministries track
