Paw Ling The

Indonesia

A key component of Asbury Seminary's Beeson International Leaders Program is the opportunity to travel to different churches around the globe, allowing students a behind-the-scenes look at the pastoral and leadership staff. And for Paw Liang The, of Indonesia, it has been an encouragement to know that though we are different, our struggles and successes can still be the same.

Paw Liang was not raised in a Christian home but was brought to Christ through a missionary school. She felt a call on her life to,  not just be a pastor, but to train more workers for God. Her heart is to teach, pastor and,  see people grow in faith, to grow in church.

A culture riddled by terrorism and ethnic tensions, Indonesia is in desperate need for a revival. As Paw Liang returns to Indonesia, her heart I to raise up a group of people to serve the church and to carefully prepare them—not to just get a certificate but to really prepare them.

This program has equipped Paw to help the Methodist church in Indonesia through its time of transition by building a stronger foundation and investing in upcoming generations to rebuild the church and faith in Indonesia.
