Paul Smith

Idaho, United States

When you have a mentor or someone you admire, it's not unusual to want to follow in their footsteps. For Paul Smith, the impact of Asbury's Beeson program was evident in more than one place.

"I had three ministry mentors, all of whom I respect and admire," says Paul. "The common thread was their participation in the Beeson program. Based on their effectiveness in ministry I had to inquire about that common factor."

During his time at Asbury, Paul hopes to learn skills and truths that will widen his perspective and have a long-lasting impact. "I hope to gain an experience that helps and strengths the church for many generations to come; to have leadership foresight that can see the challenges that are ahead for the church to be effective in this ever-changing culture."

But he's also recognizing that knowledge isn't just for the sake of furthering your own ambitions or even your own calling. "I am leaning knowledge is given for the sake of helping others. It is given for the sake of impacting and transforming culture. This knowledge will bring change and transformation one life, one soul at a time."
