Preach IT! Conference

October 27-29, 2008
The Power Center
Houston, Texas

"For the Word of God is LIVING and ACTIVE..." Hebrew 4:12

If God's Word is living and active, doesn't a sermon designed to explain God's Word deserve the same description? Inspiration comes from God, but pastors must use a variety of techniques to offer sermons that will teach, motivate and encourage their audience. Every communicator needs new creative ideas on how to deliver the right message to the right audience.

The "Preach IT!" conference has been developed to provide dynamic preaching from some of today's leading ministers of the gospel. But participants will get more than an example of a great sermon—they'll find out how the sermon came together and what resources were used in addition to Scripture to prepare a significant message.

"Preach IT!" participants will:

  • experience a wide range of preaching styles in different worship contexts
  • hear how significant preachers approach and form their preaching materials
  • learn how preaching can speak to a wider audience, especially the un-churched, multi-generational, and cross-cultural audiences

"Preach IT!" is offered through the Beeson International Center for Biblical Preaching and Church Leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary. Asbury has been an innovator in training pastors and leaders within the Church for more than 80 years. Asbury is known for its excellence in offering a quality academic education as well as professional preparation. Now we want to bring our commitment to excellence to provide a renewed vibrancy to those currently preaching in local churches around the country.
