Joel Caperig, Philippines
Born and raised in a Christian home in the Philippines, Joel Caperig has been in pastoral ministry for the last 30 years. Now, Joel is ready to take his “rich experience in pastoral work and pass it on to the younger generation,” and Asbury Seminary’s Beeson International Leaders Program is equipping him to do just that.
Traveling and visiting other US churches with the program has made an overwhelming impact in Joel’s life. By going out of the classroom and hearing about successes and failures of other pastors, Joel is ready to apply the principles he has learned to the his own culture as he raises up new servant leaders, particularly for urban ministry.
Being a part of the multicultural program has given Joel the chance to, “see the world just sitting around the table,” and it is because of this experience that Joel returns to the Philippines enriched and ready persevere, trusting that “God’s perfect timing in everything is sovereign,” and so he waits for it to begin reaching “Asia and beyond.”
