MOVE! Conference - September 13-16, 2010
MOVE! Conference
September 13-16, 2010
Ginny Proctor, Manager of Lifelong Learning
Holiness Week is a very special time at Asbury. It is a week of spiritual renewal and refreshment for our campus community at a time of great anticipation for a fall semester that is Spirit-filled and God-glorifying. Asbury’s faculty and staff continually pray for students who must sift their way through a surge of forms and syllabi, making significant decisions that will affect their lives and ministries in the future.
In a team effort to extend the spirituality of Holiness Week to the larger community, the Office of Community Life, the Alumni Office and the Beeson Center for Lifelong Learning have designed a very different kind of event for Holiness Week 2010.
Everyone is invited--no registration required! We encourage you to begin your time of refreshment with the retreat led by Dr. Marilyn Elliott, Director of Formation, on Sunday evening into Monday (September 12-13). A block of rooms has been reserved at Asbury Inn so don’t hesitate to call in your reservation now, 859-858-2156.
A unique segment of the retreat will be a monastic lunch with Scripture readings and prayer, in a silent environment. Moving to the tent outdoors, Tuesday’s chapel launches the MOVE! Conference with worship, personal reflection, special speakers including President Timothy Tennent and Dr. Steve Seamands, a variety of music, great fellowship, delicious food and lots of fun for the campus community, alumni and friends joining together in a celebration of holiness. Asbury Seminary will also be hosting an Alumni Luncheon on Tuesday at Noon. In an effort to acquire a headcount for dining services, the Office of Alumni kindly asks that you e-mail your intent to attend the luncheon to alumni@asburyseminary.edu. There will also be alumni lunch vouchers available during the MOVE! Conference and are obtainable from the Alumni Office, on the 4th Floor of the McPheeter’s Building.
This event will be even better if you are a part of it, so join us for this great experience as we encourage the students of Asbury Theological Seminary to be renewed and refreshed in the Holy Spirit as they prepare for their journey with God this semester.
