Meet the Board of Trustees - Al Gwinn
Alfred W. Gwinn is bishop of the North Carolina Annual Conference.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and received a M.Div. at Asbury Theological Seminary. He has also received an honorary D.D. from Kentucky Wesleyan College, Union College and Asbury Seminary.
Bishop Gwinn has been a featured speaker on 21st Century Leadership in all five jurisdictions of the United Methodist church. He is also chair of the design team that trains all new district superintendents who come into that office in the United States. He is a trustee of the General Board of Publications for the United Methodist church and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Council of Bishops. His is also a member of the board of the Southeastern Jurisdictional Agency on Native American Ministries.
Bishop Gwinn and his wife, Joyce, reside in Raleigh, North Carolina. They have two adult children and four grandchildren.
