Finding out in Five Steps: Navigating OneATS
Finding Out in Five Steps: OneATS Navigation
Whether you are well acquainted with Asbury Seminary’s website, or a complete newcomer, we have put together a walkthrough for accessing the seminary’s portal – OneATS. For some alumni, there are a few questions to answer before we begin.
1) Why do I need to know and navigate OneATS?
The best answer to that question is, “Because OneATS is the best way to stay connected with Asbury and acquire its resources whenever you are no longer on campus.” Most alumni know that they are in need of online databases, journals, directories, and research or networking tools for continuing their ministry, their relationships, and their education. What most alumni do not know is that this is all available to them through Asbury Seminary. And it is all accessed through OneATS.
2) What is OneATS?
OneATS is a portal for Asbury Seminary constituents for resources and e-mail. If that made you say, “Huh???” then just think of it as a website requiring membership to read, and download things from – only your membership is free! The OneATS portal is like a ‘market street,’ in that OneATS is what you walk down to get to the ‘market’ you’re looking for. There are lots of places to go into from OneATS, and hopefully this will serve as not only a guide to OneATS, but also as a guide to some of the things available once you are there.
3) How do I get to OneATS?
Accessing OneATS is easy once you know where you’re going. The Office of Alumni has taken a few print screens to go along with a help guide to get you there.
Step 1: Go to the website:http://www.asburyseminary.edu/
(See Picture 1 from the Slideshow)
Step 2: Click on “OneATS Login” link in the upper right-hand corner.
(See Picture 2 from the Slideshow))
Step 3: Log-in to the OneATS Portal with your username and password
(We know that some people don’t remember this from when they were students, and even other alumni never used this before – and that’s okay! We are here and would love to help you! If you forgot your password, just click on the link, and fill out the form. If you need a Login for the first time, click the link, and verify your information.)
Still having trouble? Call 1-800-227-2879, and we will guide you through!
NOTE:If you are alum from the class of 1986 or above, you will call Information Commons, ext. 2233. If you are from the class of 1985 or lower, you will call the Alumni Coordinator, ext. 2085.
4) Where are OneATS Forums?
The Forums listing on OneATS is customizable for each individual, but there are certain forums that all users start with, and all alumni have access to the Alumni Community forum. This is your ‘go-to’ place for the latest information from other alumni as well as getting networking resources, like WIMBA Pronto!
5) Where are other OneATS Resources?
Perhaps the most valuable resources that alumni have access to after graduating from Seminary are the online resource databases like ATLA, Library Catalog, RefWorks, eCommons, and more. These databases are supported or sponsored through Asbury Seminary, and so they are of no cost to our alumni!
Step 1: Click on “Information Commons” in the Navigation Menu.
(See Picture 3 from the Slideshow))
Step 2: Select the desired resource from the Systems Menu.
(See Picture 4 from the Slideshow))
And Remember: If you need help with anything, just call 1-800-227-2879!
