Asbury Seminary’s Top Ten List: Ways to Connect with Prospective Students
Asbury alumni are the most effective recruiters we have. We are glad when alumni are passionate about what the Lord teaches at Asbury. Please help us connect to more prospective students by any of the following ways:
1. Bring a prospective student on a visit to the Kentucky or Florida Dunnam campus. Admissions can help arrange your visit, and will reimburse groups of five or more prospective students for one night's stay at a local hotel.
2. Encourage prospectives to attend our Preview Weekend as a means of discernment. Held semi-annually on both residential campuses, the next Preview Weekend is April 16-17, 2010.
3. Encourage your church or ministry to start a scholarship fund for potential seminary students. Asbury Seminary can help you with the details through our Partnering Church program.
4. If you serve as faculty, invite an admissions recruiter to your school.
5. Point prospectives to social media initiatives like iTunesU, Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube to get an "insider's perspective" to Asbury Seminary.
6. Connect with local Wesley Foundations or campus ministries as a mentor to college students considering seminary.
7. Invite a prospective student to an Asbury-sponsored annual conference dinner, and the Admissions Office will scholarship both meals.
8. Sharing the names of men and women in your care who are considering seminary through the Asbury Seminary Refer a Student program.
9. Request an At-a-Glance packet to have current Asbury Seminary information at your fingertips by sending an email to recruiting@asburyseminary.edu.
10. Preach about vocational ministry and encourage a "community of calling" in your church. Help to plant the seed for the range of training available at seminary.
