If you’ve ever found yourself missing the Library resources from when you were conducting studies with Asbury Seminary, this article is for you! Just when you thought you couldn’t check out books from the Asbury Library, the staff with Library Services has got you covered!
The Library and Information Technology departments have merged their services to better assist our students and alumni. We call ourselves the Information Commons! Please lean on us for your library, research and computer technology needs. Below is a list of free services we are still able to provide to our Alumni through our online oneATS service portal. Your library was here for you as students and we desire to partner with you as Alumni.
Library Loan is available by searching our Library Catalog online through oneATS. Find references from favorite commentaries or locate one of our books you would like to utilize, and we can send a .pdf of small sections, (within copyright limitations) or mail circulating materials direct to your home address. We ship to you at no cost though our Library Loan system available through oneATS. You will only pay to ship circulating materials back to the library, or you can use the excuse to visit campus!
RefWorks enables the individual user to create a personal online database of references. Each user creates this database by importing references from text files or online databases. RefWorks uses these references to format in-text citations and create a bibliography within seconds.
ATLA is a full-text online collection of major religion and theology journals selected by leading religion scholars and theologians. Users can read articles or research the history of a topic from as early as 1908 to the present. Currently, researchers are able to use ATLA as a search tool to retrieve images of the pages in more than one hundred fifty different journals. The subject coverage areas include: Bible, archaeology, and antiquities; human culture and society; church history, mission, and ecumenism; pastoral ministry; world religions and religious studies; and theology, philosophy, and ethics.
