Dr. Stephen (“Steve”) Stratton comes to Asbury Theological Seminary after serving for 18 years as both a member of the faculty and director of counseling services at Asbury College. He has been an adjunct professor of counseling for the Seminary since 1993. A licensed psychologist since 1991, Dr. Stratton also operates a private counseling practice in Wilmore, Ky. He earned his doctor of philosophy from Auburn University and a bachelor of arts from Asbury College. Dr. Stratton will serve as an associate professor of counseling, teaching both counseling and pastoral care. He recently had articles published in the book, Self: Beyond the Postmodern Crisis, and Catalyst, the journal on contemporary evangelical perspectives for United Methodists. He and his wife, Carol, have been married for 24 years and have two children, Leslie and Jordan.
