Dr. Mulholland has been an Asbury Seminary faculty member since 1979 and vice president and chief academic officer since 1987. Besides conventional teaching posts at Wesley Theological Seminary, Harvard University and McMurry University, he has also been a supply and disbursing officer in the US Navy, a foreman for Scott Paper Co., and the pastor of a recreational ski ministry.
Dr. Mulholland is a nationally known biblical scholar, listed in Who's Who in the Methodist Church, Who's Who in Biblical Studies and Archaeology and Who's Who in Religion. He is the author of several books on Scripture and spiritual formation, including his latest book, Invitation to a Journey: A Road Map for Spiritual Formation, and two volumes on Revelation in the United Methodist Publishing House's Journey through the Bible series. He has contributed book reviews and articles to many journals, entries to the Beacon Dictionary of Theology, the World Book Encyclopedia, the Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels, and revisions to Tyndale House's new edition of The Living Bible.
As an elder in the Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church and a member of the Wesleyan Theological Society and Society of Biblical Literature, Dr. Mulholland is a frequent speaker at Bible and spiritual renewal conferences, and serves as a faculty member of the Academy for Spiritual Formation.
He and his wife, Lynn, have two children: Jeremy and Tareena.
